The Death of the Messiah
How does Jesus’ sacrifice deepen your understanding of God’s love for humanity?
What does the tearing of the temple veil signify for believers?
Consider: The cross proved to be God’s cosmic victory over the curse of sin. One sacrifice was offered for the sins of all mankind for those who would confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart. The temple veil tears to show us that mankind has access to the Holy of Holies through the grace offered by Jesus yet simultaneously reveals the Glory of God leaving the temple and coming to mankind in the person of Jesus. Sin has been defeated, yet those who experienced that moment thought evil had won the day. Friday was a day of death, but Sunday is coming!
